As the Mo'ani work to rebuild Valin hold, Paki's training to become a Mo'ani Warrior continues. The arrival of the former BishopLord's widow and two children in Valin brings Paki to conflict as his attraction to Rena, the BishopLord's daughter, quickly becomes evident. After leaving Valin, Paki continues to form alliances that will become the cornerstones of his future, including his friendship with Brijade, the Lady of Takis Hold.

This is the second book in this series. It continues what is shaping up to be an epic story. Many new areas and supporting characters are introduced, while the main characters grow in skill. I can't wait to read the next books.
This book filled in some blanks and rounded out some of the characters. I love that the main character still has flaws and doubts. I can't wait to read the next book and see how Paki handles his destiny.
